Farm City Poster Contest Winners

In conjunction with the 62nd annual Cleveland County Farm City Week, N.C. Cooperative Extension Cleveland County Center and Cleveland County Farm Bureau sponsored a poster contest for youth in 5th – 7th grade.  This year sixteen entries on “Preserving and Protecting our Farmland” were submitted.  First and Second place winners were chosen for monetary awards.

Hannah Vagnozzi, 6th grader from the homeschool group, Hearts-4-Homeschool, was awarded $100 for her first place entry.  Reagan McElhaney, 5th grader from Shelby Intermediate School, Communities in Schools program, was awarded $50 for second place.  Both students attended the annual Cleveland County Farm City Breakfast on November 24th to be recognized and receive their awards.  Their posters will be on display in the Cleveland County Extension Office.  FullSizeRender-2
