pigs eating feed from an outstretched handA new research project at North Carolina A&T State University is investigating whether SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can infect pigs, poultry, and cattle.

If it can, the researchers will work to establish safety protocols to keep workers safe as they interact with livestock animals.

The research team is led by Dr. Radiah Minor and includes poultry specialist Dr. Yewande Fasina, who is also an adjunct faculty with the NC State University Prestage Department of Poultry Science.
