2021 Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Class Announcement

— Written By

The Extension Master Gardener℠ program of Cleveland County is an educational program designed to enhance public education in consumer horticulture. It provides educational assistance to the citizens of the county concerning lawns, fruits, vegetables, trees, and ornamentals through the utilization of a trained and supervised volunteer staff.

Who Can Participate?

Anyone interested in gardening and volunteer service can apply to be a Master Gardener℠ volunteer! No prior formal training is required.

When and Where Can I Join?

Our next Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer course will take place September 7–November 5, 2021, in a hybrid format. Coursework will be completed virtually and there will be one in-person meeting per week. Please contact Julie Flowers for an application form.

How Do I Know if I Would Make a Good Master Gardener Volunteer?

Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer applicants should ask themselves: Do I want to learn more about the culture of many types of plants? Am I eager to participate in a practical and intense training program? Do I look forward to sharing my knowledge with people in my community? Do I have enough time to attend training sessions and to serve as a volunteer? If so, we would be glad to have you join our program!
