Cleveland County has just launched "Somethin' Pumpkin", a seasonal program during the month of October that offers fun learning activities for the entire family and focuses on local food, healthy eating, and family literacy. Collaborators include the Cleveland County Library System (Shelby & Lawndale branches), Mauney Memorial Library (Kings Mountain), Cleveland County Extension & Community Association (ECA), and other community partners.  Components of the program include:

• Reading challenges and pumpkin decorating contests
• Pumpkin recipes
• Nutritional facts
• Information about growing, cooking, and decorating with pumpkins
