There are many different ways you can get involved in supporting FCS programs through volunteering. Whether it be through partnering organizations like ECA and EMFV or directly through extension like the Union Wellness Volunteers. Check out these volunteers organizations below.

Union County Extension & Community Association (ECA)

Union County ECA is one of our oldest volunteer organization in Union County and the state. You may have known them by a different name, such as the Home Economics or Home Demonstration club, but their mission has always stayed tried and true! ECA is a partnering service organization with NC State Extension that provides community service, continued education, and camaraderie amongst fellow members.

ECA has coordinated fundraisers for student scholarships, held achievement days to celebrate member cultural arts, and provided donations and educational programs in family and consumer sciences to community centers.

They also hold educational field trips together and are able to attend all FCS programs at no cost. Currently there are two ECA clubs: Western Union Park club located in Mineral Springs-Waxhaw, NC Area and the Farmers Market club that meets at the Union County Agriculture Center in Monroe, NC. You can become an ECA member independently, join an existing club, or even form your own club with friends and neighbors in your community.
