On Friday, April 14, 2023, the Cleveland County 4-H Livestock Club traveled to the Carolina Classic Fairgrounds in Winston Salem, NC to compete in the NC Dairy Youth Foundation Dairy Cattle Judging competition.
Overall, the team of four came in 5th place out of 11 teams with a score of 998. Wyatt Harmon finished in 3rd place individually with a score of 382 and a perfect score in the Jersey 5-year-old and Holstein 5-year-old class. Grantley George came in 23rd place with a score of 320. Emily Martinez finished 30th place with a score of 296 and Kooper Gowan came in 34th place with a score of 260.
Club leader Shelly George said, “This was the team’s first competition… and with just one team practice under their belts, they did an outstanding job representing the county!”.
