Private pesticide applicators (farmers) and commercial applicators (lawn care professionals and others) have an opportunity to earn continuing education credits needed to maintain their North Carolina pesticide licenses. Local training sessions are as follows:

Date: Thursday, September 11

Location:  Cleveland County Extension Center Auditorium, 130 S. Post Road, Suite 1, Shelby, NC 28152

2-4 p.m. – 2 hours of Private Safety (Category V) Training for Private Applicators. Maintaining a private applicator’s certificate requires completion of 2 hours Private Safety Training (and 2 hours of Category X Specialty Training ) during the 3-year renewal period. Private applicators whose certificates expire in 2025 must have earned 2 hours of V credits by September 30. Failing to do so will terminate your license on December 31, 2025 and you will have to re-take and pass the exam in order to have your private applicator’s certificate reinstated. To check your recertification status, visit the NCDA Portal to conduct a credit status search or call the County Extension Center at (704) 482-4365 so that we can check it for you.

4-6 p.m. – 2 hours of Training on Safety Data Sheets. This training provides 2 hours of recertification credits in categories A, B, G, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, T, D, X (required for farmers), and K. To check your recertification status, visit the NCDA Portal to conduct a credit status search or call the County Extension Center at (704) 482-4365 so that we can can check it for you.

There is no need to pre-register, but be sure to bring your license so that you can complete the Attendance Sheet.
