The Extension Master Gardener Association of Cleveland County has enrolled in the NexTrex® Plastic Bag & Film Recycling Challenge. By collecting 1,000 pounds or more of recyclable plastic bags & film during the next 12 months, Extension Master Gardeners will be awarded a Trex® furniture garden bench that they will use at one of their pollinator gardens.
In addition to competing for the prize, Extension Master Gardeners hope to raise community awareness about the importance of recycling and to engage the public in diverting plastics from the waste stream.
You can help by saving recyclable bags and film and dropping them off at these locations:
- Cleveland County Extension Center, 130 S. Post Road, Suite 1, Shelby, NC 28152 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
- Foothills Farmers’ Market, Bobby Bell Pavilion, 126 W. Marion Street, Shelby, NC 28150 Saturdays 8 a.m. until 12 N.
