We will have our annual community service event coming up in just two weekends. On December 9th from 9 a.m until we are finished.

Part of being a 4-H member is giving back to your community, which supports you and the 4-H events you participate in.

This years community service project will be to help Santa spread joy at the Cleveland County Animal Shelter. This event is not open to the public, and personal animals are not able to come. However, Cleveland County Animal Shelter will be having a photoshoot with Santa for personal pets in the near future at Tractor Supply in Shelby. When I have more information on this I will be sure to share.

All of the capable animals at the shelter will have their photo take with Santa. These pictures will be shared in hopes of helping them find their forever homes during the holiday season.

The 4-Hers will help get the animals get ready to meet Santa, and have their pictures taken.

I ask that each 4-H member bring a minimum of one donation to this events. The donation can be a bag of dog food, or a small cash donation. All of the donations will go to support the animal at the shelter.

If you are a 4-H member and plan to help with this event please email Carey to be put on the sign up sheet. I need a minimum of six youth to help with this event!!

We will meet at the animal shelter at 9:30 a.m to help set up. If you can not come for the whole time but would like to still help please let me know.

If you have any doggy sweaters, antlers, or other cute things we could use to dress the shelter pups up with for their pictures please let me know. Also if anyone is a photographer or knows one that would donate their time please let me know.

Thank you all and I look forward to everyone signing up for this event!
